The Association for Protection and Promotion of Mental Health in Children and Youth from Nis

The Association for Protection and Promotion of Mental Health in Children and Youth from Nis was founded in 1996 as a non-political and non-governmental association with the mission of creating equal opportunities for the development of youth and children, through affirmation of democratic values and empowerment of youth for active and responsible participation in the community.

The Association is implementing:

- Projects of Education and Development of Social Skills
- Projects for Advocacy and Empowerment of Marginalized Groups
- Projects for the Support of Civil Society Development
- Projects of International Cooperation

Free Youth Centre

Free Youth Centre is an NGO founded in 1997. The aim of the organization is developing young people.

Center develops following long-term programs:

- Youth Volunteer Service, a program that encourages youth leadership and
  prepare young people for work in the NGO sector.
- Social and educational assistance is a program of support to children in social risk.
- Interface is a program that builds bridges of tolerance between young people in
  Vidin. Within this program, young Bulgarians and Roma are fighting against all
  forms discrimination.
- International Program includes youth and educational cooperation of Balkan and  
  Europe within which the Centre has built partnerships with many organizations
  outside  Bulgaria.

Gymnasium “Svetozar Markovic”

Gymnasium “Svetozar Markovic” was founded in Nis in 1954. Approximately, there are 1000 students who are divided into three different sections: a Socio-linguistic section, a section for Natural Science and a special section for students gifted in Math and Physics, and recently there exist an experimental section whichis opened for gifted students of seventh and eighth grade in elementary education.

The First Niš Gymnasium „Stevan Sremac“

The First Niš Gymnasium Stevan Sremac, was founded in 1878 as the Great Gymnasium in Niš, and since 1952 it has borne the title „Stevan Sremac“. There are approximately 850 students who attend the school. Apart from a Socio-linguistic and Natural science section, there is a section specialized for Philology science.

High school of Food and Chemistry

High school of Food and Chemistry was founded in 1935. Approximately, there are 900 students enrolled in classes in the field of Chemistry, Non-metals and Graphic Design, and also in the field of Food production and processing. The school has a lot of experimental classes in both areasof work.

Secondary School “Tsar Simeon the Great”

Secondary School “Tsar Simeon the Great” is the successor of the first secondary school in the city and today it is located inthe same building. Founded in 1850. when it was opened as a primary school, it became a high school in 1882. Today, there areover 1000 students who are enrolled in classes from 1st to 12th grade, gaining a high school degree.
